Special Needs Resource

Welcome

IT IS A PARENTS RESPONSIBILITY TO FIGHT FOR THEIR KIDS

Warning:

It is likely in the best interest of your child to not believe everything a school's special education department tells you about your child.  Now this is not to say that our local schools are not absolutely dedicated to our children because that may be.  However, it is certain that not all of those who work within the Special Needs arena are equally as dedicated.  A parent should always question the findings that affect their child especially within the Special Education Department of your Childs school.  Not all IEP's are created equal.  If there is an outcome that you disagree with, by all means, argue and don't stop until the school satisfies your request or you are convinced that they are right.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU CHILD IS ADHD

Don't panic, there is a tremendous amount of information on the web and likely a local support group in your area, and if not their

Certainly on the web.  You need to find support soon, and for goodness sake don't despair.  Depending on the severity of the disability life may be fairly normal and if not who said life was a box of chocolates any way.  I would like to suggest a great movie that recently came out it is called "The Black Balloon" it's worth a watch.

IF YOU’RE SPECIAL NEEDS CHILD CHOPS OF THE TAIL OF YOUR CAT!

This is a prime reason why parents need great friends and a confidential support group.  Let's never ever forget that regardless of what disability our children may have they are still kids.  Yes, even, so called, normal kids do very strange things like cutting the tail off a cat.  Therefore, I ask you not to worry so much as the answer to your concern is likely very simple.
